Metallica & San Francisco Symphony S&M2
In 1999, California heavy metal band Metallica collaborated with San Francisco Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Michael Kamen on the album S&M comprising lush arrangements of hits including Enter Sandman, The Memory Remains, Nothing Else Matters and Until It Sleeps. Recorded in April that year at Berkeley Community Theatre, the project spawned a concert film. Twenty years later, Metallica commemorates the opening of the Chase Center in San Francisco with a reunion concert conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas. Shot live on September 6 and 8, this concert film includes tracks from the original S&M LP plus symphonic arrangements of more recent songs.
