Shot on black and white Kodak film stock using a vintage 16mm camera, Mark Jenkin's poignant drama explores the tug of war between tradition and progress in a tiny Cornish harbour village. Fisherman Martin (Edward Rowe) is at odds with his brother Steven (Giles King), who has taken charge of the family's boat The Buccaneer to conduct tourist cruises. Money from visitors and a thriving Airbnb market are rapidly changing the community and Martin feels like he is swimming against an influx of Londoners including Tim Leigh (Simon Shepherd) and his wife Sandra (Mary Woodvine), who have bought swathes of property including his childhood home. Tensions between locals and outsiders come to a head with tragic consequences when Martin's nephew Neil (Isaac Woodvine) begins to woo Tim's daughter.
