Robert the Bruce

Richard Gray directs a historical drama, which charts a pivotal period in the early 14th century in the fight for Scottish independence. The year is 1306 and Robert The Bruce (Angus Macfadyen) has suffered a series of military losses against King Edward of England. The monarch issues an edict: any man who brings him the head of Robert will receive 50 gold pieces. Physically exhausted and hunted by his enemies, Robert seeks refuge in the humble home of widow Morag (Anna Hutchison), her son Scot (Gabriel Bateman), niece Iver (Talitha Bateman) and nephew Carney (Brandon Lessard). The family tends to Robert and restores his strength in strict defiance of England. Morag and her brood are inspired by Robert's quest for independence to fight alongside ordinary Scots.
