Award-winning Italian filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino casts a satirical eye over the exploits of Silvio Berlusconi between 2006 and 2009 in a biopic laced with seduction and debauchery, which has been edited into a second feature from two-part drama released in Italy in 2018. The second term of Berlusconi (Tony Servillo) as Prime Minister is coming to an end and pimp Sergio Morra (Riccardo Scamarcio) is determined to infiltrate the inner circle of the charismatic media mogul. As Sergio stalks the corridors of power where money and influence open the doors to degradation and desire, Berlusconi struggles to sustain his faltering second marriage to wife Veronica Lario (Elena Sofia Ricci) and consolidate the debts that could cripple his business empire.
