An Accidental Studio - The Story Of HandMade Films
In 1978, former Beatle George Harrison and his business partner Denis O'Brien founded HandMade Films in order to finance Monty Python's Life Of Brian. It was a baptism of fire for everyone involved as the company invested in prestige projects and interesting stories such as The Long Good Friday, Time Bandits, A Private Function, Mona Lisa and Withnail And I. Documentary filmmakers Bill Jones, Kim Leggatt and Ben Timlett are granted access to previously unreleased archive footage of Harrison to chart the early years of the film studio, enriched by exclusive interviews with Terry Gilliam, Richard E. Grant, Neil Jordan and Sir Michael Palin.
