Lords of Chaos
Jonas Akerlund directs a contentious blood-soaked thriller based on the book Lords Of Chaos: The Bloody Rise Of The Satanic Metal Underground by Michael Moynihan and Didrik Soderlind. Norwegian guitarist Euronymous (Rory Culkin) forms a black metal band called Mayhem and the line-up eventually settles on vocalist Dead (Jack Kilmer), drummer Hellhammer (Anthony De La Torre) and bassist Necrobutcher (Jonathan Barnwell). The group's live shows are marked by acts of self-destructive behaviour on stage, which attracts a particular fanbase including a young man called Kristian (Emory Cohen). He gravitates towards Euronymous, sparking a dangerous rivalry that culminates in a stabbing.
