Foxtrot
Israeli director Samuel Maoz explores grief and regret in a visually arresting drama, which is bookmarked into three interconnected chapters. Dafna Feldman (Sarah Adler) collapses when Israeli soldiers arrive at her door, a clear signal that something unspeakable has happened to her son Jonathan (Yonatan Shiray). Her husband Michael (Lior Ashkenazi) is left to absorb the devastating news and he becomes a ball of rage and incomprehension, lashing out at the family dog and inanimate objects. As the first wave of grief subsides, Michael latches onto the nagging feeling that he hasn't been told everything about his son's death and he resolves to learn the truth, no matter how distressing.
