Rajinikanth headlines a high-octane Tamil-language action drama, directed by Karthik Subbaraj. College hostel warden Kaali (Rajinikanth) is at the centre of community life. His easy-going manner and charm endear Kaali to everyone he encounters and he cultivates a unique aura. Kaali nurtures romance between students Anwar (Sananth Reddy) and Anu (Megha Akash), and creates conflict with final year student Michael (Bobby Simha), who also desires Anu. Animosity between Kalli and Michael escalates, attracting the attention of politician Singararan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and his vicious son Jithu (Vijay Sethupathi).
