The Parent Trap
Disney, the masters at the family-oriented remake, finally get it teeth-grindingly wrong with a modern spin on the classic 1961 film about estranged twins who plot to get their divorced parents back together again. It's an embarrassment to watch from beginning to end, especially seeing reliable actors like Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson having to play such one-dimensional characters. Newcomer Lindsay Lohen (playing both twins) oscillates between cute and irritating. The film remains firmly the latter.
