Anna and the Apocalypse
The dead will rise, just in time for Christmas, in director John McPhail's musical horror comedy set in the close-knit Scottish coastal town of Little Haven. Plucky teenager Anna (Ella Hunt) is tired of provincial life and she secretly plots a gap year in Australia behind the back of her father (Mark Benton). Her dream will take her far away from best friend John (Malcolm Cumming), class bully Nick (Ben Wiggins) and fellow students Chris (Christopher Leveaux), Lisa (Marli Siu) and Steph (Sarah Swire). In the meantime, Anna must rehearse for the school's Christmas concert. Opening night is interrupted by a zombie apocalypse. As friends and neighbours transform into slavering predators, Anna and her classmates sing and dance their way to survival, dodging infection and the sneers of the school's headmaster (Paul Kaye).
