Lulu Danger (Aubrey Plaza) is trapped in a loveless marriage to coffee shop owner Shane (Emile Hirsch), who is also her boss. He cruelly fires her to employ two dimwits then plots to steal money from Lulu's brother Adjay (Sam Dissanayake). Lulu joins forces with a bumbling gunman called Colin (Jemaine Clement) to double-cross Shane and run off with Adjay's cash to start anew. Her escape plan takes her to a small-town hotel and a sold-out performance - An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn For One Magical Night Only - hosted by a charismatic character from her past (Craig Robinson). As all of the people in Lulu's unedifying life converge, she must finally take control of her destiny.
