Touch Me Not
Experimental filmmaker Adina Pintilie challenges notions of beauty and meaningful physical contact in her debut feature, which blurs the lines between fiction and documentary. Director Adina (playing herself) wants to explore intimacy in its various forms and she chooses fiftysomething Laura (Laura Benson) as her on-screen muse. The camera follows Laura as she meets various people, who can open her eyes to the pleasures of touch. These characters include transsexual therapist Hanna (Hanna Hoffman), who believes in the power of music to stimulate the flesh, sex worker Seani (Seani Love) and a man called Christian (Christian Bayerlein), who has spinal muscular atrophy.
