In 2007, Vipul Amrutlal Shah directed the Bollywood romantic comedy Namastey London starring Akshay Kumar as a farmer, who can barely speak a word of English. He falls head over heels in love with spoilt city girl Jasmeet Singh (Katrina Kaif). More than a decade later, Shah helms the eagerly awaited sequel which headlines Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra as star-crossed lovers, whose romance blossoms far beyond the borders of the Punjab. Param (Kapoor) falls giddily in love with Jasmeet (Chopra) and the couple marries. Fissures appear in the relationship and Jasmeet leaves behind the home comforts of India for the bright lights of England, where she intends to pursue her dreams. A crestfallen Param cannot bear to be separated from the woman of his dreams and he follows her to London to win her back.
