In 2004, filmmaker and social commentator Michael Moore won the coveted Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival with his documentary Fahrenheit 9/11, a blistering attack on the Bush administration and its role in the September 11 tragedy. More than a decade later, Moore targets the current US administration with a swingeing account of the 2016 race for the keys to the White House and the subsequent fallout as Donald Trump took charge of the country. With his trademark humour, Moore tries to make sense of how America jumped on board the Trump bandwagon when it seemed more likely Hillary Clinton would follow her husband into office.
