Mandy
Nicolas Cage delivers a characteristically eye-catching performance as a man on the brink of madness in a gruesome 1980s-set horror thriller directed by Panos Cosmatos. He plays lumberjack Red Miller, who works in the Shadow Mountains where he shares a cabin with his beautiful artist girlfriend Mandy Bloom (Andrea Riseborough). The couple enjoy a quiet life of contemplation and relative solitude until Mandy attracts the unwanted attentions of sadistic cult leader Jeremiah Sand (Linus Roache). He orders twisted disciple Brother Swan (Ned Dennehy) to kidnap Mandy with the help of the Black Skulls biker gang. The abduction does not unfold entirely as planned and Mandy humiliates Sand during an awkward seduction. In retaliation, the cult leader has her burnt alive in front of a badly beaten and subdued Red. He is left for dead but Red frees himself and slowly heals. Once his strength is restored, Red swears revenge against Sand and the Black Skulls. Armed with his trusty crossbow, Red embarks on a suicide mission to meet senseless violence with brutality and blood flows freely down the Shadow Mountains.
