Tracking Edith
Born in 1908 in Vienna, photographer Edith Tudor-Hart (maiden name Edith Suschitzky) captured startling images of poverty and deprivation in London during times of conflict. Her art was her cover because Edith was secretly working as a spy for the Soviet Union in the English capital. She recruited Kim Philby and was heavily involved in the Cambridge Five spy ring, which passed secrets during the Second World War. Documentary filmmaker Peter Stephan Jungk probes the untold history of his great aunt to better understand her life in Austria, Britain and the Soviet Union.
