Detective Dee: The Four Heavenly Kings
The first action adventure featuring fictional sleuth Detective Dee, played by Andy Lau, was released in 2010 under the title Detective Dee And The Mystery Of The Phantom Flame. The first prequel, Young Detective Dee: Rise Of The Sea Dragon, followed three years later and now Mark Chao reprises the title role in this third chapter under the direction of Tsui Hark. Di Renjie (Chao) claims a dragon taming mace from the Emperor as his prize for solving a tricky case but this powerful artefact could undermine the authority of iron-fisted Empress, Wu Zetian (Carina Lau). She hatches a diabolical plan to assemble a group of sorcerers with the collective power to wrench the mace from Di's heroic grasp. Wu Zetian hires Yuchi Zhenjin (Feng Shaofeng) to oversee her underhand scheme but they underestimates Di's resolve and the allies that protect him.
