Time Trial
In 2014, Scottish athlete David Millar - the first British rider to wear the leader's jersey in all three grand tours - considered a final lap as a professional cyclist and invited a film crew to follow him on his adventure. He intended to bring his season to a rousing close by riding in the Tour de France as part of the Garmin-Sharp team, supporting leader Andrew Talansky. Unexpectedly, Millar was dropped from the nine-man squad shortly after Sir Bradley Wiggins failed to be selected by Sky for the Tour. Finlay Pretsell's documentary focuses on this dramatic period in Millar's sporting life, when he unexpectedly found his calling as a TV commentator. The film also delves into events leading up to his retirement including his 2004 arrest for use of the banned performance-enhancing drug EPO and his rebirth, in and out of the saddle, as an anti-doping campaigner.
