Overboard
Rob Greenberg directs a contemporary remake of the screwball 1980s comedy, which paired Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. In the new version, Kate Sullivan (Anna Faris) is a single mother with three daughters, Emily (Hannah Nordberg), Molly (Payton Lepinski) and Olivia (Alyvia Alyn Lind), who delivers pizzas when she isn't studying hard for her nursing exams. Times are tough but Kate battles through for the sake of her girls. One cleaning job leads Kate to a yacht owned by obscenely rich and arrogant playboy Leonardo Montenegro (Eugenio Derbez), who throws Kate off the boat when she refuses to do his bidding. Soon after, Leonardo tumbles unseen into the water and he washes up in Kate's hospital with a nasty bout of amnesia. The single mother hatches a cunning plan with her good friend Teresa (Eva Longoria) to exact a fitting revenge on Leonardo for his bad behaviour. Kate exploits his lapsed memory to pose as Leonardo's wife and makes the playboy believe that he is the father to her three girls. She secures him construction work with Teresa's husband Bobby (Mel Rodriguez) and puts poor Leonardo through the emotional wringer. Meanwhile, Leonardo's scheming sisters Magdalena (Cecilia Suarez) and Sofia (Mariana Trevino) falsely report his death in order to wrest control of the family business away from their elderly father (Fernando Lujan).
