Inspired by the true story of Jessie and Ray Lorrison, who spent every day together since 1946 until council bureaucracy refused to let them live in the same care home, writer-director Paul Duddridge's poignant drama sheds light on the red tape, which can impact the elderly in their final years. Philip Twain (Peter Bowles) has been married to his sweetheart Rosemary (Sylvia Sims) for 60 years and they are enjoying their twilight, tending to each other. Rosemary is taken to hospital for a routine check-up and in her absence, Philip is admitted to a care home. When Rosemary returns, she is prevented from rejoining Philip. The couple refuse to accept this judgement and they fight back, doing whatever it takes to prove they are capable of independent living.
