Bobby Robson: More Than a Manager
Sir Bobby Robson was a beloved figure on and off the football field. He guided the England national team to the semi-finals of the 1990 Fifa World Cup, where West Germany won on penalties after extra time. Robson also took charge of the team in 1986 when Diego Maradona scored his Hand Of God goal and led overseas squads to glory before returning home to save Newcastle. Against this backdrop of sporting excellence, Robson publicly waged battles with cancer, supported by his wife Elsie and family. Co-directed by Torquil Jones and Gabriel Clarke, this affectionate documentary pays tribute to the life and career of the esteemed manager and incorporates previously unseen archive footage, emotional testimony from Lady Elsie Robson and contributions from some of football's most charismatic figures including Sir Alex Ferguson, Paul Gascoigne, Pep Guardiola, Gary Lineker, Jose Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo and Alan Shearer.
