Yellow Submarine
A 50th anniversary rerelease of the wildly imaginative and surreal animation based around The Beatles and their songs. The Fab Four's involvement is restricted to the soundtrack (bouncing jauntily from All You Need Is Love and Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds to the title track and new songs like It's All Too Much), with their voices provided by a quartet of unknowns. An adventure inspired by the 1966 song of the title, the film twists from one mind-altering set piece to the next, introducing a roster of unforgettable characters and locales like the Blue Meanies, Glove and the Sea Of Holes. Yellow Submarine has been the inspiration for a thousand subsequent pop music videos.
