Released in February 2016, the first Deadpool film seduced audiences and critics alike with its relentlessly lurid and unapologetically foul-mouthed origin story, which reinvigorated the painfully earnest X-Men universe. David Leitch slips into the director's chair for this eagerly awaited sequel, which continues the foul-mouthed escapades of former Special Forces operative Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) in his guise as wise-cracking Deadpool. The rogue attempts to juggle responsibilities to the superhero cause, romancing his sex club worker fiancee Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) and placating his no-nonsense landlady Al (Leslie Uggams), who he lovingly describes as "the Robin to my Batman... except she's old, black and blind". Deadpool vows to protect a powerful young mutant called Russell (Julian Dennison), who is being hunted by time-travelling soldier Cable (Josh Brolin). Deadpool and his X-Men buddies Colossus (voiced by Stefan Kapicic) and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) require reinforcements to defeat Cable, so the titular assassin forms X-Force. He recruits a motley crew of misfits to join the good fight, including Bedlam (Terry Crews), Domino (Zazie Beetz), Peter W (Rob Delaney), Shatterstar (Lewis Tan) and Zeitgeist (Bill Skarsgard). Let battle commence!
