Beyond the Clouds
A young man vows to free his sister from prison after she is involved in a violent altercation in a Hindi-language drama directed by Majid Majidi, accompanied by an original score composed by Oscar winner A. R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire). Aamir (Ishaan Khattar) is often on the wrong side of the law and he relies upon his sister Taara (Malavika Mohanan) to conceal his drugs from the police. She calls upon her work colleague Akshi (Gautam Ghose) to help with the cover-up and he demands satisfaction in return. Taara rebuffs Akshi but when he forces himself upon her and assaults the young woman, Taara grabs a rock to protect herself and she is imprisoned for attempted murder. Akshi eventually regains consciousness but he is unable to talk and confess his culpability to the police. Meanwhile, Aamir becomes his sister's champion and protector, and he forges new alliances to prove her innocence.
