Sajjan Singh Rangroot
Director Bankaj Batra commemorates 100 years since the end of the First World War by dramatising the true story Sikh regiments on the front lines of the conflict. Scripted by Gurpreet Singh Balheri, the story centres on soldier Sajjan Singh (Diljit Dosanjh), who bids farewell to his sweetheart Jeeti (Sunanda Sharma) to serve in the Lahore Regiment of the British Indian Army commanded by Zorawar Singh (Yograj Singh). Operating in the face of discrimination and alienation, Sajjan and fellow Indian soldiers risk their lives for their colonisers to fight the German forces and restore a fragile peace.
