Birth of the Dragon
Loosely based on fact, Birth Of The Dragon employs artistic licence to imagine events leading up to an infamous fight between two martial arts legends, which unfolded behind closed doors in front of an invited audience. Directed by George Nolfi, the film is set in 1965 San Francisco where the young and ambitious Bruce Lee (Philip Ng) is determined to carve out a niche in history with his speed and agility. He issues a bold challenge to Shaolin monk and kung fu master Wong Jack Man (Xia Yu), who has travelled to America to survey the rise of martial arts in the west. The two men prepare for their historic, bruising bout. Only one of them will emerge victorious.
