Co-directors Marc J Francis and Max Pugh are granted unprecedented access to the Buddhist meditation centre in Plum Village, located in the Dordogne in south-west France, which is overseen by one of its founders, Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh. This monastic community is dedicated to mindfulness and meaningful contemplation while the rest of us rush through life, barely pausing to appreciate our surroundings. Capturing day-to-day life in this secluded enclave with minimum intrusion, the film observes the rituals of monks and nuns, whose pursuit of happiness differs greatly from the materialistic outside world.
