More than 15 million people worldwide are believed to be suffering the devastating effects of myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), commonly known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). The disease creates dysfunction in multiple systems of the body, rendering 75% of patients unable to work and confining 25% to their beds. When vivacious and outgoing Harvard PhD student Jennifer Brea is diagnosed with ME shortly before marrying the love of her life, Omar, she turns a film camera on herself to document her harrowing ordeal. With brutal honesty, she captures the stigma associated with the illness and uses social media and video conferencing to connect with fellow sufferers around the world, who are also trapped inside their homes and are repeatedly told that the illness is "in their head".
