Secret Superstar
Insia (Zaira Wasim) is a 14-year-old Muslim girl, who yearns to be a singer but cannot express her musical talents for fear of offending her strict, conservative father. So she turns to the internet and posts clips of her singing on a video sharing website, concealing her true identity behind a burka. Ageing rock star Shakti Kumar (Aamir Khan) is dazzled by the young singer he finds online and pledges to help her realise her dreams. He is keen to mentor Insia and help her emerge from the shadows. This journey of self-discovery has a profound impact on all of Insia's family and friends including the girl's mother Najma (Meher Vij).
