The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)
Released simultaneously at selected cinemas and on Netflix, this gently paced comedy-drama from writer-director Noah Baumbach explores the years of hurt and bitterness that exist between the generations of a dysfunctional New York clan. Stubborn patriarch Harold Meyerowitz (Dustin Hoffman) is a famed sculptor, who shares his cluttered apartment with his current wife Maureen (Emma Thompson). They plan to sell the expensive property, which does not go down well with middle son Matthew (Adam Sandler), whose daughter Eliza (Grace Van Patten) is a film school freshman. When eldest son Danny (Ben Stiller) and daughter Jean (Elizabeth Marvel) become entangled in Harold's affairs, old wounds are reopened and acid-tongued ex-wife Julia (Candice Bergen) rubs salt into them.
