The Drummer and the Keeper
Gabriel (Dermot Murphy) is the drummer in a rock band, who cannot control his bipolar disorder, which leaves him prone to violent mood swings that are driving his fellow group members to distraction. In order to curb his self-destructive tendencies, Gabriel promises the rest of the band that he will abstain from alcohol and drugs, and begin a new regime of medication including lithium. He also agrees to regular exercise and enrols in a local football team where the 17-year-old goalkeeper, Christopher (Jacob McCarthy), is deeply misunderstood as a result of his Asperger's Syndrome. A close and unlikely friendship blossoms between Gabriel and Christopher, and when the drummer decides to come off his medication in order to unleash his creativity, the keeper provides emotional support during his darkest days.
