Dennis Skinner: Nature Of The Beast
Born in the Derbyshire mining village of Clay Cross and raised alongside nine siblings, trade unionist Dennis Skinner has become one of the most recognisable figures in Britain's political establishment, even inspiring his own nickname: The Beast Of Bolsover. Documentary film-maker Daniel Draper attempts to reveal the man behind the fearsome reputation, exposing what lies behind Skinner's rise from humble beginnings as a local councillor to the hallowed corridors of the House of Commons, where he has championed the rights of the working class for more than half a century. Draper juxtaposes archive footage with an in-depth interview with Skinner, who shares revealing anecdotes, and words of wisdom from his four surviving brothers.
