A workaholic son questions his priorities when he is compelled to embark on a road trip with his elderly father in director Shubhashish Bhutiani's award-winning low-budget drama. Middle-aged accountant Rajiv (Adil Hussain) is at the mercy of his boss, who keeps reminding him about hitting targets to prove his worth to the company. Rajiv neglects his wife and daughter as a consequence, and compromises his relationship with his elderly father Daya (Lalit Behl), who is a stickler for tradition. Out of the blue, Daya tells Rajiv that he is about to die and intends to make a pilgrimage to the holy Hindu city of Varanasi. Rajiv has no choice but to accompany his old man on this final odyssey, even if it incurs the wrath of his boss. Before they leave, Daya takes a ritual bath in the Ganges river that marks the start of his journey towards death. When father and son arrive in Varanasi, they check into a hotel run by Mishraji (Anil K Rastogi), whose guests generally check out within two weeks. As the days pass, Rajiv grows increasingly frustrated to be torn away from his job while Daya makes new friends including a beautiful widow called Vimla (Navnindra Behl).
