Toilet - Ek Prem Katha
Shree Narayan Singh directs this Hindi comedy, which has been made in support of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Movement) campaign championed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which hopes to improve sanitation in the country especially in rural areas. The film centres on love birds Keshav (Akshay Kumar) and Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar), who live in two villages near Mathura. The majority of households do not have access to lavatories and residents defecate in public areas, which poses severe health risks. Keshav and Jaya marry but, on the first day of wedded bliss, the bride discovers that there is no toilet in her husband's house. An argument ensues about age-old traditions and Jaya angrily walks out on her other half. Desperate to repair his tattered relationship, Keshav sets out to win back Jaya while challenging his own mindset.
