Love Off the Cuff
Hong Kong director Pang Ho-cheung's follow-up to the rom-coms Love In A Puff and Love In The Buff is another frothy and occasionally potty-mouthed survey of the fractious dynamics between men and women. Cherie (Miriam Yeung) is wary of men but she allows Jimmy (Shawn Yue) to woo her with sometimes disastrous results including an ill-fated expedition to spot a UFO. As her feelings for Jimmy deepen, Cherie must come to terms with her insecurities and fears, which are inflamed by unwanted meddling from her father (Paul Chun) and Jimmy's straight-talking Canadian godmother (Jiang Mengjie).
