Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry
The second animated film based on the hugely popular Fairy Tale manga comic series, the follow-up to the 2012 feature Fairy Tale: Phoenix Princess, is an epic battle between good and evil directed by Tatsuma Minamikawa. Dragon Cry is a magical wand, which is rumoured to possess the power to destroy the world if it falls into the wrong hands. This magical artefact is safely enshrined within a temple in the benevolent Kingdom of Fiore until a thief, Zash Caine (Jiro Saito), steals the wand and spirits it away to King Animus (Makoto Furukawa), who presides over the Stella kingdom. Natsu Dragneel (voiced by Tetsuya Kakihara) and his fellow mages - Carla (Yui Morie), Ezra (Sayaka Ohara), Gray (Yuichi Nakamura), Happy (Rie Kugimiya), Lucy (Aya Mirano) and Wendy (Satomi Sato) - agree to retrieve the Dragon Cry. In the process of carrying out their daredevil mission, the mages encounter Animus' magician Sonya (Aoi Yuki), who might be able to tip the balance of power in favour of one side of the conflict.
