The Love Witch
Anna Biller writes and directs this tongue-in-cheek homage to 1960s and 1970s low-budget horror films, replete with intentionally mistimed cuts, continuity errors and stilted performances. A beautiful young witch called Elaine (Samantha Robinson) has just suffered a painful break-up. So she leaps into her red Mustang convertible and heads for pastures new in the hope that she can find her perfect man. A laidback English professor called Wayne (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) is the first candidate to drink one of her love potions. Unfortunately, the heady brew tips him over the edge and when Wayne dies, a handsome cop called Griff (Gian Keys) begins to ask difficult questions.
