Multiple Maniacs
A lovingly restored print of John Waters' cult 1970 black comedy, his follow-up to Mondo Trasho. Lady Divine (Divine) presides over a travelling show called The Cavalcade Of Perversion, which lures in punters with the promise of fetish acts and then Divine and her posse, including her lover Mr David (David Lochary), rob the clientele at gunpoint. Following one of these heists, Lady Divine returns home to spend some quality time with her daughter Cookie (Cookie Mueller) and her boyfriend Steve (Paul Swift). Soon after, Edith (Edith Massey), who runs the local bar, telephones Lady Divine to tip her off that Mr David has been spotted fraternising with another woman, Bonnie (Mary Vivian Pearce). Lady Divine vows revenge.
