Award-winning documentary filmmaker and cinematographer Alma Har'el considers the notion of true love and attempts to deconstruct the fairy tale by examining three real-life relationships that have been severely tested by fate and misfortune. In Hawaii, the film meets an endearing free spirit called Coconut Willie, who places huge importance on the family unit. This love comes under scrutiny when Willie discovers that he is not the biological father to his son. On the streets of New York City, singer-songwriter Victory is joined by her father John and siblings to perform songs about faith and faithfulness. Their strength endures despite John's separation from his wife. And finally in Alaska, Joel is head over heels in love with Blake, who has a burgeoning career as a stripper and earns her money by parading in front of hundreds of appreciative men.
