The Bye Bye Man

Adapted from one chapter in Robert Damon Schneck's non-fiction book The President's Vampire, The Bye Bye Man is a psychological horror in the vein of Candyman directed by Stacy Title, which promises audiences a sleepless night this Friday the 13th. College students Elliot (Douglas Smith), John (Lucien Laviscount) and Sasha (Cressida Bonas) move into a house off-campus, which is in the grip of a diabolical supernatural entity called The Bye Bye Man (Doug Jones). The ghoulish figure appears to the students and they discover The Bye Bye Man is like a parasite, who burrows inside the heads of his victims then compels the host to commit violent and bloody killing sprees. The only way to avoid this terrifying fate is to exercise incredible self-control and not think about The Bye Bye Man or say his name out loud. Each thought or utterance empowers the bogeyman. When the students become the epicentre of a new series of deaths and wanton carnage, Detective Shaw (Carrie-Anne Moss) investigates and finds that Elliot and co are unwilling to discuss their hellish experiences.
