The Black Hen (Kalo Pothi)
In 2001 in northern Nepal, a fragile ceasefire between the army and left-wing rebels gives the people hope of lasting peace. Prakash (Khadka Raj Nepali), the grandson of a village elder, and Kiran (Sukra Raj Rokaya), the son of a humble servant, hark from very different backgrounds but are the best of friends. They are delighted when Prakash's sister Bijuli (Hansha Khadka) gives her brother a hen and the boys make plans to sell the bird's precious eggs. However, the hen goes missing and the youngsters embark on a perilous journey to reclaim the fowl, leading Prakash and Kiran into the blackened heart of the country's bitter civil war.
