The Coming War on China
Filmed on five potential frontlines across Asia and the Pacific during almost two years, journalist John Pilger's chilling documentary reveals tensions between America and China, the world's greatest military power and the world's second largest economic power. The film explores the consequences of President Obama's 2011 announcement of a "pivot to Asia", which has resulted in an arc of around 400 American military bases from Australia to Japan, Korea and across Eurasia to Afghanistan and India, armed with missiles, bombers, warships and nuclear weapons. The film also delves into an air-sea military exercise codenamed Talisman Sabre, using American forces to cut off China's access to oil, gas and other raw materials from the Middle East and Africa as well as blocking sea lanes in the Straits of Malacca.
