Turkish father Dee (Muhammet Uzuner) struggles in vain to hold his family together when his wife Moira (Beth Orton) is consigned to a care home, where her deteriorating condition can be closely monitored by the staff. While Dee's eldest children Ewan (James Stuckey) and Ramona (Sophie Burton) slip into the same emotional fug as their father, youngest child Rose (Zamira Fuller) is bewildered by the suddenly breakdown of her family unit. Determined to learn the truth about her mother and reunite her fractured clan, Rose sets out alone to see Moira but she is unprepared for the harsh realities of the days and weeks ahead.
