Writer-directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, who penned the opening film of The Hangover trilogy, advocate sexual equality when it comes to behaving badly in this raucous comedy about an exhausted mother, who throws caution and her inhibitions to the wind. Picture-perfect parent Amy Mitchell (Mila Kunis) is a sales rep for a coffee company and manages to juggle work pressures with her responsibilities to her husband Mike (David Walton) and two children, Jane (Oona Laurence) and Dylan (Emjay Anthony). In the aftermath of a shocking discovery, a distressed and angry Amy publicly quits the parent-teacher association headed by Gwendolyn (Christina Applegate) and her fierce sidekicks, Stacy (Jada Pinkett Smith) and Vicky (Annie Mumolo). Amy drowns her sorrows at a nearby bar, where she is befriended by Carla (Kathryn Hahn) and Kiki (Kristen Bell), who encourage Amy to let down her hair and join them on an alcohol-fuelled night out. The following day, Amy reevaluates her highly regimented approach to daily life and implements some sweeping changes that have repercussions for Mike, the children and Gwendolyn's snarling PTA posse.
