Akshay Kumar headlines director Vipul K Rawal's Bollywood thriller, which is inspired by the real-life 1959 court case of Indian Commander KM Nanavati, and was filmed on warships from the period to ensure authenticity. Rustom Pavri (Kumar) has dedicated his life to the navy, at the expense of his marriage to his beautiful wife Cynthia (Ileana D'Cruz). While Rustom is away at sea for long periods, Cynthia grows lonely and she seeks solace in the arms of a lover, Vikram Makhija (Arjan Bajwa), who agrees to marry her if she divorces her husband. When the naval officer returns home and discovers his wife's betrayal, Rustom loads a gun and heads to Vikram's home to assert his authority with deadly force. The subsequent trial captures the imagination of the public as prosecutor Lakshman Khangani (Sachin Khedekar) attempts to secure a conviction that will put Rustom behind bars for the rest of his life.
