The Measure of a Man (La loi du marche)
Thierry Taugourdeau (Vincent Lindon) loses his job as a factory worker and he struggles to find a new position. For 18 months, he hopes in vain that the counsellor at his employment agency (Yves Ory) will have better news for him to share with his wife (Karine De Mirbeck) and teenage son (Matthieu Schaller). Thankfully, he finally lands a new job as a security guard in a supermarket, where he is tasked with surveillance on the customers. He must catch men and women, just like him, in the act of stealing to make ends meet. His sense of unease grows when bosses at the supermarket ask him to spy on the other staff and root out colleagues who are abusing their positions.
