Despite the Falling Snow
Adapted by writer-director Shamim Sarif from his own acclaimed novel, Despite The Falling Snow is a romantic drama spanning four decades set on two continents. In 1959 Moscow at the height of the Cold War, Katya Grinkova (Rebecca Ferguson) agrees to help the Americans by stealing valuable information from idealistic Soviet politician Alexander Ivanov (Sam Reid). She becomes compromised when she falls in love with her target. When Alexander prepares for a diplomatic mission to America, Katya faces an agonising decision between duty and her heart that has shocking ramifications for them both. In 1992 New York, Alexander (now played by Charles Dance) is struggling to comes to terms with the disappearance of his beloved Katya following his forced defection from the USSR. After years of searching, the truth about her sacrifice all those years ago is finally within his grasp.
