Hitchcock/Truffaut
In 1962, esteemed French New Wave director and film critic Francois Truffaut recorded 27 hours of interviews with Alfred Hitchcock for an exhaustive book entitled Hitchcock/Truffaut, which examined the Master of Suspense's body of work. The tome was published four years later, filled with photographs, and revealed a strong connection between the two men. Documentary filmmaker Kent Jones relives these face-to-face encounters, intercutting some of the audio from Truffaut's recordings with film clips and interviews with contemporaries, who have been influenced by Hitchcock's work.
