Thirty men and women, all born before 1916, reflect on 100 years of tumultuous change in Ireland including the bloody transition from a newly formed fledgling republic through to the nation's development into a European state. The centenarians share their wisdom, wit and personal philosophies as they muse on the exuberance of youth, finding true love, loss and regrets, distill their understanding of the meaning of life and ponder the existence of a hereafter. Alex Fegan's documentary pays tribute to this unique group of individuals and witnesses a century of history through their twinkling eyes.
