La fille du RER (Girl On The Train)
Doting mother Louise (Catherine Deneuve) tires to inspire her disenfranchised daughter Jeanne (Emilie Dequenne) to jump-start her life by sending her to a job interview with her old flame, Jewish lawyer Bleistein (Michel Blanc). The interview goes badly and on the spur of the moment, Jeanne makes up a shocking story about how she was the victim of a racially motivated attack on a train and had a swastika carved into her stomach. The national media gets hold of the story and Jeanne's fib becomes a scandal across the entire country. When the police intervene, they are sceptical of the young woman's testimony, having no evidence that such a crime took place. Bleistein watches the case unfold with interest as he prepares for the bar mitzvah of his grandson, Nathan (Jeremy Quaegebeur).
